Elephant Rebellion is a collective of artist, writers, and activists who use their talents to spread social justice and youth empowerment. Crew consists of : Uran Kabashi, Monotone, MoBeats , Mike Spex, LO Kari, SoulTree, Tj Gt. This collective was inspired by the drive and integrity of the late John Vietnam Nguyen who said, “The elephant is an emblem, representing the displacement we face as members of society. Elephants roam in packs, unified by mutual feelings, whether they are complacent or oppressed, Elephants sound their yawp: bellowing and beautiful.”

Jeff Wong, better known as Ark, currently can be found in the California Bay Area challenging students to discover and fine-tune their dedication, self-confidence, and ability to creatively interpret challenges (both physical and mental) through the practice of dance.

His aim is to teach this dance with an emphasis on fundamental technique, cultural values, and historical significance while providing an open door for the youth to connect to the thriving hip hop community that exists on a larger scale. Students are exposed to a positive outlet that is in consonance with tenets of good health, conductive social engagement, introspection, and fun. He continues to maintain an active presence in the global breakin’ scene as a competitor representing world renown crews – The 808 Breakers, and FloorGangz.

On our second Roundtable discussion we are bringing back Sneeks from Chicago Tribe! How to throw a jam/battle 101! Sneeks and Chicago Tribe have been throwing events since the 90s including events such as City vs City, Slick City, and King of the North besides their own anniversaries. Awmack is a group formed out of waffle gang. Mack Nito & Awdazcate come together to form a dynamic duo a super producer/emcee and a seasoned emcee/producer. The group dropped their first album Awmack Seven Deadly Sins last year January 2017. Since then they have released solo projects. Awdazcate released Bolie a instrumental album available on the Waffle King sound cloud page, and has worked with various artist on helping them achieve that Chicago Boom Bap sound that has no time attached to it. Mack Nito has also released a Beat Ep available on the Mack nito sound cloud page and several singles including two diss tracks available on the Awmack band camp page. Both artist have collaborated with other artist to create a underground sound that is unique to Chicago. June 8ththey will be releasing their latest project Awmack Inferno that is sure to make some noise over and underground.

Dj Tommy FreshMess was raised in Waukegan Illinois in 1982. He started out as a BBOY then in 1984 he was introduced to DJing by DJ Jazzy J & never stopped.

Being so multi-talented and versatile, she is known by multiple names. Her students and mentees have affectionately-named her “Mama Mayder.” This simple term of endearment shows how close her bond is with those who look up to her most. In the Hip Hop world, she’s known as “Bgirl Darth Mayder” and also “DJ Mayder.” 

Mayder loves to travel. She has traveled throughout the United States, building relationships with different communities from the Midwest to the West Coast. She has even traveled overseas to Thailand and Laos, teaching Hip Hop/Breakin to under–served children in rural orphanages. Through all her travels and accomplishments, she’s proven that anything is possible with hard work and determination.
