Stedy Serv is a certified Chicago Hip Hop legend. He has been a dedicated B-boy and Hip-Hop activist since the early 1980s, and began rhyming in 1985. As a student of the old school and a contributor to the now and new school, he is a rare breed. Originally from the group All Natural, Stedy Serve became a solo artist after the end of the lower links era. In 1994 Caught in The Middle Magazine featured an interview of Stedy Serve by Ang13 in which he talked about being influenced to start MCing by a brother named Well Equipped, whom he formed a group called The Up Brothers with. Upon hearing Stedy Serve kick one of his rhymes & liking it, Well Equipped told him to keep writing and so he did. By the time he released the classic 12” single that would officially plant the roots for his legend status he had already been making jams and rocking stages for many years. In ’94 the release of “You Know The Time” made some noise and a powerful statement; with the musically mastery of Andy C, the ever capable hands of DJ Tone B Nimble on the cuts, and the humble, yet elegant stylings of Stedy Serv on the mic. Over the years he’s released some more music & several projects, stepped on to the scene to rock shows & randomly appear into a rhyme or Breakin’ cipher.
