Bgirl Pep-C and Natural One with DJs Sandra Suave and Ace D 3-27-18

Born in Muncie, Indiana Pep-C spent her childhood playing Ultimate tag in the corn fields, bike racing in the neighborhood, beating boys at sports, and spending an ample amount of time in the principal’s office. In short, Pep-C was a very energetic and unpologetic kid.

Her attitude about competition, athleticism, and self confidence came from her family and other community members who encouraged her to excel in anything she did. This excellence was especially natural in dance. So much so that Pep-C was known for dance where ever she went. This is a reputation she carried all through grade school. One which inspired to pursue dance as a career.

She began her formal training in Indianapolis, Indiana public arts schools where she trained modern and ballet techniques from 5th to 7th grade. Then again her last 3 years of high school. In this time, she gained experience teaching an afterschool program as an assistant, dancing with the WNBA, choreographing a solo piece, and earning a dance scholarship to Columbia College Chicago.
However, once she got to Columbia and was exposed to the fact that Hip Hop is bigger than she thought, she was convinced that she did not have to specialize in western dance to make dance a career. As a result, Pep-C began her Breaking training with Preach of GCOS. Soon after, she began winning allstyle competitions which transitioned into advancing in Breaking competitions.
Pep-C is currently a Senior at Columbia College studying Business and minoring in dance. She has had offers to be an apprentice in two W. African dance companies and has been invited to study at Alvin Ailey Dance School on Scholarship. After graduation, Pep-C plans on continuing her dance training, studying, working, and pursuing her entrepreneurial and non-profit visions.
