On New Year’s Eve, Midus published an article revealing that the competitive ballroom dance industry are the ones behind breaking being in the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. They pushed this initiative without consulting anyone in the worldwide breaking community and are officially claiming that breaking is a part of competitive ballroom dancing. They hope to use and control the dance as a way to fulfill their over two decades-long mission of getting ballroom dancing into the Olympics. Join us on this heated discussion this Tuesday!

Originally from Los Angeles, Midus has been active in the breaking world since the mid-1990’s, gaining notoriety for his unique, abstract style. In 2001, together with three other dancers, he produced a highly influential video called Detours. He is currently an active member of the Style Elements Crew and a representative of the Originality Stands Alone movement.
