Crosstown Sessions with E Double: Vol 1 – DJ ILLANOIZ

FullSizeRenderHello DJ ILLANOIZ and thank you for being apart of my Crosstown Sessions collaboration, My first question has to deal with the Chicago Public School system and the Chicago Teacher’s Union in which you and I are apart of. How did you get involved with the CPS and the CTU?

A: in 2006 I was invited to a meeting at the field museum of natural history by Tim Meegan a teacher at Roosevelt High School which is the high school I went to. The group was discussing the after school matters program and it happened to be in my region which is region 1. It was the biggest but had no programs so we put together some activities for school classes and also after school programs which was run by Erick of Chicago Champions and as for the CTU I was in Colorado heading back to New York when the teachers went on strike back in 2012 And myself and Rebel Diaz produced a song for the strike called “Chicago Teachers” after we put out the song the CTU president Karen Lewis emailed us wanting to know if they can use the song and also wanted to meet up with us in Chicago. When we meet up she wanted us to make another song with RhymeFest. The song never got done but we still keep in contact.

Second question is when traveling, what is your favorite food to eat or are you health conscious when you travel out of state?

A: I’ve been to a lot of places around the world. When I travel I usually eat what the area is

Last question is if you could have another passion or career besides Djing what would it be?

A: merchandise would definitely be the thing I would be doing. I use to work at Wrigley Field and United Center doing just that and loved it.
