Super Inlight Interview 4-28-15

Founding Member and Director of Stick and Move Dance Crew and Stick and Move Youth Crew.  His career includes 19 years of experience in dance performance and 15 years of experience teaching through out Chicago, the mid-west, nationally, and abroad.  From 2003 -2013 Jonathan served as Artistic Director of Stick and Move Dance Crew leading the group performing and teaching across the country to theaters, schools, and community organizations sharing dance with tens of thousands of people.  During that time to present, InLight has targeted under-served communities teaching the youth in efforts to provide opportunities in dance as a viable alternative to the ills we hope they avoid.

He has served as United States Cultural Ambassador to Morocco, Algeria, and Pakistan sharing the USA born art form of Hip Hop dance (breaking, popping, and locking), performing, teaching, and speaking in several communities across the countries.  In addition, InLight also spearheaded international initiatives independently, performing, teaching, curating, and participating in cultural exchanges including multiple residencies in Uganda and expanding to India, Malaysia, and Canada.  As a member of Breakdance Project Uganda, Jonathan plans on continuing to travel to Uganda periodically to volunteer, teach, learn, share values, and collaborate in the Hip Hop and arts community.  He’s a member of the F.E.W. Collective, a band of international performing artists, and also performs as a soloist in his One Man Shows.  In addition to performing and teaching, InLight also judges competitions internationally and intends to continue competing at the national and international dance competitions.
