Dance, Islam, and Family is her life. Ma-Ma’ loves hip-hop, art, breakin’ and most recently and dearly: waackin’. She tries to dance and pray as much as possible because that is her outlet in life…..Also education is very important to her…She believes: “Without it, how can we grow?”  She is is hoping to teach more about breakin’ and to instill the hip-hop culture and values in our youth..because they are our future.
Ma-Ma’ has been breakin’ since 2001. Throughout the years, she has traveled the country to learn and practice her love of breakin’. She has had the honor to learn from pioneers of the dance such as B-Boy Crazy Legs from the legendary Rock Steady Crew and and Prince Ken Swift. She has also learned from BBoy Dyzee, BGirl Shie Chan, BBoy Born, BBoy Ivan, BBoy Casper, BGirl ABGirl, BBoy Lil John, Incredible Josh….and the list goes on…

Since 2002, she has continued her dance training as a member of Hardcore Detroit dance crew who was voted “Best Dance Company” in Real Detroit 2010. Hardcore Detroit is considered to be her family and “family business”. She believes everyone should try to generate income by doing what they love. In addition, she has competed nationally and has won several competitions including the 2011 Breakin’ the Law in Madison, Wisconsin and Grand Rapid’s Slam N Jam and the 2014 Quality Prequel All Styles event.

Her dream is become an ultimate Hip-Hop advocate to spread the true knowledge of Hip-Hop and Bboying (and of course having 100% of her income to be dance related). Therefore, she teaches as much breakin’ workshops, classes and children’s camps throughout the Metro Detroit area, as she can.  Hence, this would propel her to continue her efforts to share her knowledge and to teach breakin’ to as much students as possible 🙂

Ma-Ma’ earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree in 2008 from the University of Phoenix and is currently a full time Office Manager and Dance Instructor at Dance City located in Birmingham, MI. Yes! 100% of her income is “DANCE RELATED”, through her career and profession in dance; it is a dream come true for her!
